新世界第一巴士服務有限公司在一九九八年九月一日起投入服務，取代中巴入主港島。新巴在投標時曾承諾會買新車，取代舊有中巴舊車；新巴第一架的新車是丹尼士三叉戟十二米，編號為1001，直至1199。在2002年，新巴再次引入配置歐三引擎的丹尼士三叉戟，直至1220，取代車隊中的單層巴士，使新巴的三叉戟12米數目達到300架。 |
